My new quintet made its debut on September 16 at Gallery 345 in Toronto.  

It's an all-star quintet featuring Kirk MacDonald on saxophone, Kevin Turcotte on trumpet, Kieran Overs on bass and Terry Clarke on drums. I'm currently writing new material and arrangements for the band, and we intend to record our first album shortly after this concert.

Bassist Howard Baer hosts an evening of JAZZ viewed from three different angles and featuring three stellar Jazz players:

• Ballads and Jazz standards with SAN MURATA, violin
• Hard bop and original jazz compositions with STEVE HOLT, piano
• Latin Jazz with HARRY ELLIS, drums and percussion

All four players will set out together on this journey, weaving through three very different approaches to the JAZZ idiom.

Merrickville Jazz Festival: TRIO

Next is a trio performance with two great musicians, bassist Kieran Overs and drummer Terry Clarke.  We'll be playing plenty of standards as well some of my originals. Come and hear us October 14th at Merrickville Jazz Festival.
